Cassava green mite
A tiny mite on the young leaves at the top of cassava. Leaves turn pale and small.

What it looks like

Every field looks a little different. If you are not sure, ask in the app’s Farmers, or ask an agronomist.
When it comes
| Crop | Stage | Check |
|---|---|---|
| Cassava | Bulking | Scout monthly |
What to look for
Once a month, check the leaves. If they look reddish-brown and twisted, that's a tiny mite, worse in dry weather. After heavy rain, dig up one plant and check the roots — if they're soft or rotting, your soil is holding too much water; dig drainage channels.
What to do
Control culturally with clean planting materials or early planting.
Also watch for
General advice from crop guides for Ghana. Before you spray, ask your agro-input dealer for a product registered for this pest, read the label, and wear gloves. For a serious attack, call your district agriculture office or an agronomist.
